The Royal is a recently re-opened and fully refurbished pub and restaurant in the heart of Charlton Kings village on the edge of Cheltenham. Although the Royal’s been in the village for decades, it hadn’t been in use for several years until, in 2009, it came under new management – followed by the need for major refurbishment and rebranding.
We got involved (yet again by referral) when the new management team required a fresh brand identity, signage, interior and exterior photography and a dedicated website. Working to a very tight deadline, we developed a clear, understated identity and proposals for the required website ready for the pub’s re-opening in time for the busy Christmas and New Year season.
The website brief included requirements for integration with the new brand identity, broadcast email capability, Google Maps integration and the ability to change content such as restaurant menus as required. As with the Exmouth, this, and other requirements for adding and changing content at short notice, was perfect for the deployment of our proprietary content management system.
The simplicity and intuitive nature of the CMS has simplified life for a management team that, by their own admission, are not IT experts. With a busy pub to run, they wanted a tool that was easy to use without taking precious time away from their core hospitality activities. We delivered it.
