Safelight Images is a photography company based in Swansea, South Wales. When they came to Cutpastecreate on referral, they were looking for an online presence and a distribution channel for their photography services.
Putting hundreds of digital images online
When clubbers want a record of their latest night out, they don’t want to wait weeks. The pressure’s on to get hundreds of high quality digital images off the dance floor and onto the web so partygoers can quickly buy copies of their favourite snaps.
Fast upload and automatic image manipulation
The site required fast upload, resizing and watermarking of hundreds of images. Next, customers had to be able quickly and easily navigate to their favourites before buying.
It also had to serve as a professional portfolio for showcasing other Safelight Images photography services. In response to this challenging brief we designed a website that gives the business the strong online presence it needs to expand. So successfully, in fact, that the business now employs extra photographers to handle the demand!
An easy-to-use online shop
Images on the site need to be clear and inviting for purchasers – while being watermark protected. Our solution makes it easy to upload Zip files of pictures; these are automatically unzipped, watermarked and added to the online shop.
Without this facility, the process would be slow and labour intensive. This core functionality is supported by the online shop, shopping cart, payment gateway and order processing. The result is an efficient business machine for getting pictures into the hands of clubbers as fast as possible.
Helping Safelight get access to venues
We’ve also made it possible for clubs to manage their own advertising details on the site. This helps Safelight get into venues – a key part of their business model. Everybody wins – clubs, clubbers and Safelight Images.
